Bird Haven is a bird sanctuary where thousands of beautiful exotic birds are kept in their natural environment as nearly as possible; where thousands of young birds are bred each year for bird lovers in cities and towns all over America and foreign countries. Bird Haven is located in the lovely San Fernando Valley in Southern California about five miles distant from the town of Reseda.
Bird Haven is a real farm devoted exclusively to the breeding of beautiful birds. It is owned and operated by a family of bird lovers and students of nature who for the sheer love of birds started breeding birds in a small way for their own enjoyment but who have enlarged their activities to such an extent that they can now supply other bird lovers throughout America with these lovely feathered gems. Bird Haven is so well known that we receive orders daily from all parts of America and many foreign countries for singing birds, pairs and large collections. There is nothing else in America like it. Nowhere else is it possible for bird lovers to buy beautiful domesticated foreign birds direct from the breeder. These birds have formerly all been imported after having been trapped by natives in foreign countries. They were usually very wild and could not stand confinement very well. The birds from Bird Haven are quite tame and domesticated, having been raised in captivity for generations. They know no other life and consequently they take to cage life readily and are happy and contented.
Here at Bird Haven the birds are given every care in order to maintain perfect health and contentment. No task is left undone that will insure an ounce of happiness and health for our birds. We supply all our breeding aviaries with a continual stream of running water, plenty of clean seeds and foods and an ample supply of Bird Haven Health Grit. After years of study we believe we have found exactly the right foods for the various types of birds. This fact alone is only one of the reasons for our breeding successes. Rest assured that nothing but the finest specimens ever leave Bird Haven.
